Terms of Service
Last updated: 4 May 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the MiniLorem website at https://minilorem.com (the "Site"). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. The service
MiniLorem provides a free, browser-based lorem ipsum generator, ready-to-paste placeholder templates, a translator that identifies lorem ipsum text, and reference content about placeholder text. The Site is offered "as is" and may change, be updated, or be discontinued at any time.
2. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of, restrict, or inhibit anyone else's use and enjoyment of the Site. In particular, you agree not to:
- Use the Site to violate any applicable law or regulation.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, its servers, or related systems.
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any system or network without authorisation.
- Transmit malware, viruses, or any other malicious code.
- Use automated means (bots, scrapers, scripts) in a way that places an unreasonable load on our infrastructure or interferes with normal operation.
- Frame, mirror, or redistribute substantial portions of the Site as if they were your own.
- Use the Site to harass, defame, or otherwise harm any person.
- Misrepresent your affiliation with MiniLorem or use our name, logo, or marks in a misleading way.
3. Generated text
The lorem ipsum and other placeholder text generated by the Site is in the public domain. You may use it freely — in personal projects, client work, commercial products, books, or anywhere else — without attribution and without paying any fee.
You are responsible for the appropriateness of using placeholder text in your own work. We make no guarantee that generated text is suitable for any particular purpose, and you should not use placeholder text in production-facing contexts where real content is required.
4. Templates
The placeholder templates provided on the Site (including stubs for privacy policies, terms of service, contact blocks, hero sections, and similar content) are provided as starting drafts only. They are not legal advice, and they are not a substitute for content reviewed by a qualified professional. If you publish such content on a real product or website, you must review and adapt it to your specific circumstances and legal obligations.
5. Intellectual property
The Site itself — including its design, code, copy, name, branding, and curated reference content — is owned by MiniLorem or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Except for the public-domain generated text, you may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the Site without our prior written permission.
6. Third-party services
The Site uses third-party services, including Google AdSense for advertising and a privacy-friendly analytics provider. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party advertisers or websites linked from advertisements.
7. Advertising
The Site is supported by advertising. Ads displayed on the Site are served by third parties and are not endorsements. We are not responsible for the products, services, or content of advertisers.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The Site and all content are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or accuracy. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MiniLorem and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Site, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
To the extent any liability cannot be excluded by law, our total aggregate liability is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us to access the Site in the twelve months preceding the claim (which, for the free Site, is zero), or (b) one hundred US dollars.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or damages, so some of the above may not apply to you.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MiniLorem and its operators from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Site, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, for any reason, including violation of these Terms. You may stop using the Site at any time. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and governing law — shall survive.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which MiniLorem is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from or related to these Terms or your use of the Site shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that jurisdiction, except where applicable consumer law grants you a non-waivable right to bring proceedings in your country of residence.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If the changes are material, we will provide reasonable notice on the home page.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect, and the unenforceable provision will be replaced with an enforceable provision that most closely reflects the original intent.
15. Entire agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and MiniLorem regarding your use of the Site, superseding any prior agreements on the same subject.
